Description
The first museum in Turkey dedicat ed to transport, industry and communications, the Rahmi M. Koc Museum contains the foremost examples of industrial archeology. The museum contains thousands of industrial exhibits, from gramophone needles to ships and planes.
Location
Standing on the shore of the Golden Horn, the Rahmi M. Koc Museum can easily be reached from all parts of Istanbul thanks to its excellent connections to the TEM and E5 highways. It is also only a short dis tance from the historic walled city and the Taksim-Beyoglu district.
Meeting facilities
The museum's fully equipped 145 sqm Conference Hall has a capacity of 130. Decorated with historical cinema equipment and posters, the
hall is equipped with a microphone system, Internet connection, projec tor screen, computer-linked BARCO projector, slide projector, simultaneous translation facilities, a DVD and VHS player with 40 headphones and CD-player. The Erdogan Gonul Gallery, the museum's main meeting hall, can accomodate 500 seated visitors and 750 standing. All or some of the vintage cars exhibited in the gallery can be removed according to requirements.
Another meeting facility in the museum is the Haskoy Shipyard, With its views of the Golden Horn and the historic quarter of the city, this venue can be used for meetings for from 20 to 2,000 people. The Rahmi M, Koc Museum's first build ing, the three-storey Lengerhane, can be used for small functions such as extended cocktails. The terraces on the seafront can also be used for open-air cocktails.
